Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect the minimum data needed to help you change your name. We will never sell your data. Your Social Security Number never touches our servers. You can delete your account and all data at any time.

What we collect

• Email address — to send you updates and your personalized plan when we launch
• State of residence — to show you state-specific requirements
• Document type — marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order (we never ask why you're changing your name)
• Institution list and status — which institutions you need to update and your progress

What we do NOT collect or store

• Social Security Numbers — when you generate a pre-filled form, your SSN stays on your device. It is never sent to our servers. Form generation happens entirely in your browser.
• Legal documents — we never ask you to upload your marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order
• Filled forms — the completed PDFs are generated in your browser and downloaded to your device
• Passwords or credentials for any of your institutions

How we protect your data

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard encryption for data at rest. Our architecture is deliberately designed to minimize what we store — if we were ever breached, attackers would find a list of email addresses and name change progress. No SSNs, no documents, no financial information.

We will never sell your data

We will never sell, share, or monetize your personal information. We make money by selling our product, not your data.

Delete your data

You can delete your account at any time. All your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Email us at support@renamely.io to request deletion.
